David Brill’s intellectual curiosity has driven his 20-year journey in law, strategy and corporate finance. He was enamored with technology at a young age and early in his legal career at Thomson Reuters, he negotiated large strategic deals with some of the best known technology and financial services companies in the world. David closed and executed FinTech deals before FinTech was on the map.

Currently, David is in private practice and also serves as General Counsel of KrowdMentor, Governing Dynamics Investments and Co-Founder of Celsius Network. David is the former chair of the Corporate and Securities Committee of the Greater New York Chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel and also served as its Past President, He is a frequent writer and speaker on FinTech, digital assets and securities law.

In 2016, David helped Gemini Trust Company obtain licenses for its digital asset exchange in the U.S., Canada and various European countries. He also worked on the filing for the first bitcoin ETF in the U.S.

From 2010 until 2015, David was EVP and General Counsel of American Stock Transfer & Trust Company, a private equity owned portfolio company. He led a team of North American team of legal and compliance professionals.

From 2003 to 2010, David was VP and Principal Legal Counsel of Thomson Reuters. He was division counsel for its Corporate Services Group, a $500M revenue division of the company. David also handled a number of large M&A and strategic transactions with technology companies and bulge bracket banks.

David holds a degree in History from the University of Michigan and his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law where he was a member of the International Law Review.

Born in New York City, David is an avid athlete and played sports in high school and college. David was featured in the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, American Lawyer and numerous other media outlets.
